The LEGACY GALA is an effort with an eye toward the future.
Our community faces challenges in education, talent retention, and civic leadership. Young talent leaves our community, and systemic issues persist. We aim to break this cycle by identifying emerging leaders, removing barriers to education, and providing mentorship and mentoring opportunities to our community.
The LEGACY GALA is a Legacy-focused event meant to help members of the community, young leaders, and Glynn County alumni transform our city.
The Legacy Scholarship
Funded by our Legacy 100 Alumni, The Legacy Scholarship awards high school seniors with a scholarship award to go toward their education at a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) or trade school. This reward will help relieve the burden of the cost of attending school and give young people an opportunity to come home and serve our community.
Legacy 100 Alumni
Brunswick has produced successful men and women who are thriving nationally and internationally. The Legacy 100 Alumni is comprised of Brunswick natives interested in providing financial support for ongoing initiatives through our leadership development programming. The Legacy 100 Alumni gives Brunswick natives the opportunity to give back to the community that helped raise and develop them.

OUR THEME: FROM MOVEMENT TO MOMENTUM
Building a Movement
For years, we’ve been building a movement—one that challenges the status quo, disrupts
systemic barriers, and empowers the next generation of leaders. What started as a small ripple
of advocacy in Glynn County has grown into a powerful force for change. But movements alone
are not enough. To create a lasting impact, we must turn movement into momentum.
Building Momentum
Momentum is what transforms vision into action, activism into policy, and opportunity into
equity. It’s what ensures that the progress we’ve made doesn’t stall but accelerates—bringing
more people into the fold, inspiring new advocates, and building a future where leadership,
opportunity, and justice are not just ideals but realities.
In Glynn County, systemic challenges have long limited access to education, leadership
opportunities, and economic mobility. Less than 30% of our citizens hold a bachelor’s degree,
and the high school dropout rate remains troublingly high. For too long, young professionals
have left our community in search of greater opportunities elsewhere. And for too long,
leadership in our region has lacked transparency, accountability, and a strong pipeline of
emerging voices ready to step up and lead.
That’s why we took action. Over the past five years, our work has removed barriers, created
pathways, and built a new generation of civic leaders committed to transformative change.
We’ve provided scholarships, mentorship, and resources to those who once saw no way forward.
We’ve mobilized advocates to hold institutions accountable and ensure our community’s needs
are met.
Building Something Sustainable
Now, we stand at an inflection point. The energy we’ve built must be sustained, expanded, and
strengthened. This is the moment where movement becomes momentum—where a foundation is
laid for the next decade of impact. But we can’t do it alone.
Join us at The Legacy Gala: From Movement to Momentum. Together, we will celebrate the
progress made, honor those leading the charge, and commit to the work ahead. This is our time
to secure a future where Glynn County doesn’t just respond to change—it drives it. This is our
time to build, to strengthen, and to sustain the momentum for generations to come.
